Privacy notice
This notice covers the Atelier pre-release website. The Atelier application and Chrome extension are not yet generally available; when they are, they will carry their own notice.
What we collect
The email address you enter in the early-access form, together with the time you entered it and which form on the page you used. That is the only thing you type here, and the only thing we keep in our own records.
When the form is submitted, our server also sees your connection’s IP address, as any web request does. It is used only to limit repeated submissions, and it is stored only as a one-way hash that cannot be turned back into the address.
Separately, this page loads measurement tags from Google and PostHog, which collect ordinary web analytics: the pages you view, the site or advertisement you arrived from, your device and browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Where consent is required, none of that happens until you give it.
Analytics and advertising
We advertise Atelier, and we need to know which advertisements bring people who sign up. To do that the site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics and Google Ads. Google acts as our processor for the analytics data and as an independent controller for the advertising data; its own privacy policy explains what it does with the latter. You can opt out of Google Analytics in any browser with Google’s opt-out add-on.
The same container also loads PostHog, a product-analytics service we use to understand how visitors move through the site and how many go on to use Atelier itself. PostHog acts as our processor; it does not use the data for its own purposes or for advertising. Like Google’s analytics tag, it waits for your consent where consent is required.
When you join the waitlist and have accepted advertising cookies, we send Google a one-way SHA-256 hash of your email address so it can match your sign-up to the advertisement you clicked. Your address itself is never sent for advertising, and the hash is not sent at all if you have refused.
Cookies
With your consent, Google’s tags set “_ga” and “_ga_<id>” to recognise a returning browser and group its visits into a session (about two years), and “_gcl_au” to attribute a sign-up to an advertisement (about three months). PostHog sets “ph_<key>_posthog” to recognise a returning browser (about a year). Refusing means Google’s tags run without storing anything on your device, and PostHog does not load.
Your consent choice itself is kept in your browser’s local storage under “atelier.consent.v1”. It never leaves your device and is the only thing this site stores regardless of what you choose. Clearing your browser data clears it, and we ask again.
Why
To send you an invitation when a place in the pre-release is available. That is the only purpose. We do not add early-access addresses to a newsletter, and we do not share or sell them.
Where it is kept
On Google Cloud, in the Firebase project that runs Atelier, in the United States. Google acts as our processor under its Cloud terms. Access is limited to the people operating Atelier. The measurement data described above is held by Google and by PostHog, also in the United States.
How long
Until the pre-release ends or you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. If you accept an invitation, your address becomes part of your Atelier account and the application’s notice applies from then.
Your choices
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage is refused by default and stays refused unless you accept it — we ask once, in a notice at the foot of the page. Elsewhere the tags run unless you tell them not to. Either way you can change your mind at any time from cookie settings, and the site works exactly the same if you refuse.
Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] to have your address removed, to ask what we hold about you, or to correct it. We will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK or a jurisdiction with similar rights, those rights apply and the same address is where to exercise them.
Who we are
Atelier is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY], [ADDRESS]. Questions about this notice go to [CONTACT EMAIL].
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what we do with an address already on the list will be sent to that address before it takes effect.
